BRETFORD INTRODUCES NEW FLAT PANEL DIGITAL KIOSKS
FOR SECURE AND CONVENIENT INFORMATION ACCESS

Flat Panel Digital Kiosks designed to provide secure network data access or
general information to people in virtually any public location. The FPDK
Series will debut next month in the Bretford booth (#2013) at InfoComm
International, June 19-21 in Anaheim, Calif.
“With today’s technology, we are used to having instant access to data and
information wherever we are,” explained Jim Fisher, product manager,
Bretford, Inc. “The Flat Panel Digital Kiosks serve two very different types
of users. The FDPK01 is ideal for information gathering and general
navigation in public spaces.” According to Fisher, this model is perfect in
a hotel lobby or business center so a guest can check a meeting location or
flight information. Another key application is a mall for patrons to find
information about a specific store or restaurant. “In these scenarios, the
kiosks help save a significant amount of time by allowing the user to
quickly obtain specific information.”
The FPDK02 has a CPU holder for applications that require data to be
accessed through a PC. It is designed primarily for users within a facility
who need information within the network when not at their usual workstation.
“Doctors and nurses at hospitals, for example, may need critical access to a
patient record. The kiosks allow them to directly input data into a secure
system without concerns about a paper trail.” Fisher added that students and
instructors in schools or libraries and employees in a corporate or other
business environment could also benefit from this model.
Intelligently Designed Flat Panel Digital Kiosks The new Flat Panel Digital
Kiosks feature a unique keyboard tray that folds up and out of the way when
not in use for safety and space-savings. Both of the kiosks allow easy
access to data by attaching directly to the wall at walk-up height but can
also be mounted lower on the wall for wheelchair access. Additionally, the
monitor and keyboard tray both mount independently on the track, which
allows users to easily adjust the monitor and keyboard for comfort and ease
of use.
The FPDK01 includes a 31.5” aluminum alloy wall track, while the FPDT02
includes two 31.5” wall tracks – one to support the CPU holder (measuring
63” in total height). Both kiosks include mounts that are VESA 75mm and
100mm compatible for use with essentially any 15-19” flat panel monitor.
Other user convenience features include an expandable tray for various
keyboard sizes with an integrated, ergonomic wrist rest and mouse pad. As
well, the kiosks offer left- or right-handed mouse capability to accommodate
all users.
Availability, Pricing and Warranty Bretford’s new FPDK Series is currently
available for order through Bretford’s nationwide network of distributors
and resellers. Both models will begin shipping in Q2 2007 at the following
list prices: $520.00 (FPDK01) and $878.00 (FPDK02). The new kiosks come with
